Basic sound and reccording set up
Together with my build
reports, I
will also
try
to
post
Mp3
sound samples from
them if a
can find the time
to
record
them.
If
the
project
is
a
colon of
an existing
commercial pedal I
will
also
try to post a
recording
of the
original effect
if
I can find an
original
pedal to
record
or if
I can
fin a recording
on
the net
to
link to. I
think
it
would be
nice to
have the
possibility to
compare
the
clone with the
original.
How
they Sound? ther is only
a fiwe
recorded
but stay
tuned,
more to
come. The
basic
recording
settings is
the same for
all
recordings.

below.
This is the basic
setup with volume,
Tone and
gain
settings that i
have used
for all recordings. The speaker is a
Celestion
Vintage 30. The mic,
a good
SM57 clone, is
connected to a
mixer
and then
recorded
directly with Cubase SX
and a
M-audia Delta 192
Sound Card.
There are
no
software effects
or plugins used at all. If any
effects are
used, exept
the
recorded one, it is
specialy
noted. Some of
the
effects are
more
sensitive
to
the type of
pickup used then
others. In
those
cases
I have
recorded
both with
a
single
coil and HB
pickup.
I have also included
recordings of my of
favorite effect
combinations.
